After you are finished writing your help pages, you will undoubtedly want to organize them so that they display within UniHelp's table of contents listbox in a specific order sequence.
Within your central help folder, you can organize your files into groups/categories by placing them in folders. Any folders located within the central help folder are displayed in UniHelp's table of contents listbox as expandable book icons. Files are represented as page icons.
You can also set the order sequence of how files are listed in the root directory of your central help folder and within category folders, by adding UniHelp's number scheme to your help pages' filenames.
UniHelp's number scheme consists of 3 numbers and a hyphen, followed by your page name and file extension.
For example, this page that you are reading is called "Sequence of Pages" (which is the 2nd item in the category's sequence) and it is located in the "Set-Up Instructions" folder (which is the 5th item in the listbox's sequence).
Here are the filenames for this page and its related folder:
002-Sequence of Pages.html
005-Set-up Instructions
Browse through the UniHelp Demo "Help" folder in the Finder and you will immediately understand how the number scheme works. This flexible number scheme allows you to include an unlimited number of category folders and up to 999 files within each folder! And the best part is that UniHelp does NOT display this number scheme when filenames are displayed in the listbox. File Extensions are not displayed either.
Unlike web sites, your HTML help pages can include spaces in their filenames, so that they are easy to read in the table of contents listbox. Notice that the filename for this "002-Sequence of Pages.html" page includes spaces.
